A Charismatic Prayer Meeting is a gathering of Christians who come together (usually weekly) to thank, praise and worship God under the guidance of The Holy Spirit.
Praise is expressed in many ways - we speak to the Lord through songs, spontaneous or formal prayer, shouts of joy, singing in tongues, etc. The Lord speaks to us through inspired Scripture, teaching, personal sharings, and the charismatic gifts of 1 Corinthians 12 (e.g., prophecy, words of wisdom and knowledge, healing). We are often led into deep worship, sometimes culminating in an anointed silence and an awe of His presence. God's presence is evident, people are evangelized, the Church built up, the Gifts of The Spirit are taught about, received and used. We are energized in our faith with increased zeal for mission. ...be filled with The Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. --Ephesians 5:19-20
