INSPIRED WORD

September 30, 2009

SHARING / SCRIPTURE

I was having a bad day at work today and decided to go home after work, but the Lord had other plans for me. He called me here to Holy Apostles Church for this Praise and Worship meeting. As I was driving here I really felt two things. The first thing that I sensed was that God has a destiny for tonight. There is something very, very special that God wants to do in this place. It is not just a ‘come, worship and pray', but it is a ‘come and receive what I have for you and be sent forth in the fullness of life'. The other thing that I was thinking about was that all of us who come here tonight are pretty exhausted from the work and stress of life. God does not want us to be exhausted tonight. He wants us to be energized, to receive what He has planned for us from His table of goodness and be sent forth with life, joy and peace. As I was praying a little while ago, the Scripture that I was led to was Psalm 34: 8 . It says: “Taste and see that the Lord is good; happy are those who take refuge in Him.” I encourage everyone, including myself, to take hold of God, take hold of what He has because we don't want to let this moment pass us by.

PRAYER

Here we are, Lord! Holy Spirit, come and anoint our hearts that we might hunger and thirst for You this evening and that we might be open to Your Holy Presence here. Lord Jesus, as we lift You high in praise, accept the gratitude from our hearts. Father, we give You thanks for Your creation and for Your love for us. Glory to You! Glory to You, O Lord! Glory and praise to You, O Lord!! Mighty are You, O Lord! Tender hearted are You, O Lord! Come, Holy Spirit, come and melt us, mold us, fill us and use us in this place tonight! Send Your fire down upon us, warm us, O Lord, where we are cold and make us supple where we are hard.

VISION / SCRIPTURE

I am going to ask you to remain standing and close your eyes. Imagine that in front of you there is a hot air balloon. I want you to walk over to that hot air balloon and I want you to get in it. That balloon is being held down by a rope and in some cases it is being held down by several ropes. I want you to grab that first rope and it may be a concern for someone, a friend or family member who is ill. I want you to unhook that rope and throw it out of the gondola. Now reach for the next rope which may be plain old tiredness; you are weary and just can't take it anymore. Now unhook that rope and throw it too out of the gondola. Reach over for the next rope which may be loneliness, despair or frustration. Take that rope, unhook it and throw it overboard too. Reach for the next rope and as you reach for this one, notice that the hot air balloon is starting to lift a little bit. Maybe these concerns are joblessness, financial worries for either you, family members or a friend. Take that rope, unhook it and throw it overboard. Then you will see one more rope and you know what that rope is. I want you right now, silently in your hearts, to name that rope and give it to the Lord, unhook it and throw it overboard. If you let all of those ropes go and have thrown them overboard, you can see the balloon rising now. There is nothing holding you down and you are now free to let the Lord work in you. From Isaiah 41: 13 it says, “For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.'”

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 63: 1 – 5: My whole being desires You. Like a dry worn out waterless land my soul is thirsty for You. Let me see You in this sanctuary! Let me see how mighty and glorious You are. Your constant love is better than life itself. Your constant love, O Lord, is better than life itself! And so I will praise You, I will give You thanks as long as I live. I will give You thanks, O Lord, as long as I live! For Your work in my life and Your love, I will raise up my hands to You in prayer; my soul will feast and be satisfied and I will sing glad songs of praise to You, O Holy One.

CONFIRMATION

I just want to confirm that in a big way.

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 149: 1 – 5: Sing to the Lord a new song of praise in the assembly of the faithful. Let Israel be glad in their Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King. Let them praise His name in the festive dance; let them sing praise to Him with timbrel and harp. For the Lord loves His people, and He adorns the lowly with victory. Let the faithful rejoice in their glory.

PRAYER

You love the lowly, Lord; You raise us up, and You care for us. We rejoice, O God, in that love tonight in this place.

PROPHECY

The Lord says, “I am Good, I am Love. And of all the preconceived ideas, notions and imaginations that you think I have, forget them and come to Me and know that I AM.”

SCRIPTURE

Revelation 3: 20: Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into his house and eat with him and he will eat with Me.

SCRIPTURE

Luke 7: 12 – 17: As He approached the gate of the town a dead man was being carried out, the only son of a widowed mother. A considerable crowd of townsfolk were with her. The Lord was moved with pity upon seeing her and said to her, “Do no cry.” Then He stepped forward and touched the litter; at this, the bearers halted. He said, “Young man, I bid you get up.” The dead man sat up and began to speak. Then Jesus gave him back to his mother. Fear seized them all and they began to praise God. “A great prophet has risen among us,” they said; and “God has visited His people.” This was the report that spread about Him throughout Judea and the surrounding country.

CONFIRMATION

I want to confirm that. I was having an image of Jesus laying His hands on every one of us here tonight and healing each of us.

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 91: 14 – 15: Earlier this evening we heard, “Put away all preconceived notions that you have of Me. Come to Me and know that I AM.” In this Psalm, we hear these words: “God says, ‘I will save those who love Me and will protect those who acknowledge Me as Lord. When they call to Me, I will answer them. When they are in trouble, I will be with them. I will rescue them and honor them.'”
