INSPIRED WORD
January 28, 2009
SCRIPTURE / PRAYER
Psalm 37: 23 – 26: “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord upholds him with His hand. I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread. He is ever merciful and lends, and his descendants are blessed.” Father, I ask that You bless this house and that You bless us too, that we may understand Your Word and Your Spirit, in Jesus' name. Amen.
SCRIPTURE
Psalm 80: 2 – 4, 9 - 12: “From Your throne upon the prayer bench, shine forth. Rouse Your power and come to save us. O Lord of Hosts, restore us; if Your face shines upon us, then we shall be safe. A vine from Egypt You transplanted; You drove away the nations and planted it. You cleared the ground for it, and it took root and filled the land. The mountains were hidden in its shadow; the mighty cedars with its branches; it sent out its foliage to the sea, and its shoots as far as the river.” Thank You, Lord Jesus!
SCRIPTURE
Psalm 89: 1- 2, 15 – 16: O Lord, I will always sing of Your constant love; I will proclaim Your faithfulness forever. I know that Your love will last for all time, that Your faithfulness is as permanent as the sky. How happy are the people who worship You with songs, who live in the light of Your kindness! Because of You, they rejoice all day long, and they praise You for Your goodness.
SCRIPTURE
Psalm 138: 1 – 3: I thank You, Lord, with all my heart; before the gods to You I sing. I bow low toward Your holy temple; I praise Your name for Your fidelity and love. For You have exalted over all Your name and Your promise. When I cried out, You answered; You strengthened my spirit.
TONGUES
INTERPRETATION
...set for you. Dance in the ways of My love. I make a path for you in the desert and in the dryness, but I also make a way for you in the lushness and in the forest. Dance in My ways, walk in My ways, come, come!
INTERPRETATION
My sweet, sweet children, I want you to come to Me. I want you to dance with Me. Lay down your burdens; My love for you is sufficient.
SHARING
My students taught me something last week and it was about doubting Thomas. It was basically that Thomas was ridiculed for having to place his fingers into Jesus' palms to believe in the Resurrection. You sort of think, “Do all of us have to go across the Red Sea ? Do all of us have to be fed with manna? Do all of us have to sit at the footsteps of Sinai with the trumpets and the thunder in order for us to believe in it? Can we not live each day as though those experiences were for all of us, which they were? Can everyday be breathed as though every drop came from a rock at Meribah, as though every bread and the food we ate came from heaven and quail or from manna that we gathered from the desert, or every sustenance from God? Does He have to do this four billion times for all of the people on this planet to believe in Him? Does He have to help all of us across the Red Sea or can we all be present everyday?
IMAGE / PRAYER
...crowds on either side jeering at Him, mocking Him, and He was looking. I could see His face looking. His face was a face of love and He was looking for me and for you, not with a look of condemnation, but with a look of love, of mercy and forgiveness. O Jesus, O Jesus, let me look into Your face of love. O Jesus, let me experience Your forgiveness, Your mercy. O Jesus, thank You for looking for me!
PROPHECY
Feel My saving grace, rivers of grace and mercy, pouring out on each of you, for I did come to save the lost, that not one soul should be lost. That is My deepest desire! My love I pour over each and every one of you, for you are so dear to Me. I came to save each one of you.
I pour My grace into each one of your hearts. I only ask for your love and that you would love one another as I love you. Feel My mercy, feel My love!!
SCRIPTURE / PRAYER
Psalm 139: 23 – 24, 7 - 12: “ Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way. Lord, where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your Presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn and if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, ‘Surely the darkness will cover me, and the light around me will be night,' even the darkness is not night to You; the night is as bright as the day, for darkness is as light to You.” There is Your Presence and, Lord, there is no escaping it. We are so thankful for that. Lord, for even times when we would want to escape it, You hem us in. Lord, You are above us and below us, behind us and in front of us, to our right and to our left. You surround us, You are in us; every breath we take is grace. Lord, You are beyond words and You love us the way we are, in our strength and in our brokenness. Lord, Your Presence is always with us. Lord, we are lost in You and we are captured in Your love and in Your mercy towards us. Lord, help us, so that in our weakness You are our strength.
PROPHECY
Listen now, with your hearts in the midst of this silence. Have you heard all the words of love that I have poured out upon you this night? I am truly a God of love! I truly love YOU – each and every one of you! Though I am the God of big miracles and can do wondrous and awesome things, look for Me also in the small miracles. Look for Me in the breath of wind that touches your cheeks, and know that I touch you. Look for Me in the smiles when you are feeling down and know that it is I Who is looking at you. Look for Me in the places where you least expect to see Me, the flower coming up out of the snow, and know that I am with you in any struggles that you may have. Look for Me in the small places as well as the large places, and believe the words that I have spoken to you tonight. You have cried out for Me, you have let your hearts be open to Me, and I have come and filled you with a great amount of My love. Let that love pour forth from your hearts. Recognize Me in the days to come; recognize Me not only in this place, but in every place that I walk with you. Recognize Me and never forget that My love is forever and faithful.
SUMMARY
You know the words spoken earlier that began as a question, and that question was very simple. God said, “Did you hear all the words of love that I poured out upon you tonight?” That is very important because the Lord told us that He wants us to carry that into this world. We heard Chuck say that he saw the Lord looking at us and He was looking at us with the eyes of love, with mercy and forgiveness. That is what He wants us to remember; that when we leave here tonight He is going to be looking at each one of us with those eyes of love, mercy and forgiveness. He told us that in word, in song, and He told us that in Psalm 139 when God tells us that He knows our inner most being. We asked to have a little glimpse of Him and He says to us, “just as I look at you with the love, mercy and forgiveness that is in My eyes and in My heart, that is what I want you to take from this place into the world.” We heard a word that said, “Does the Lord need to do it four billion times?” The answer is no, if we do our job! If we take His message to other people, no, He does not have to do it; it is our responsibility. But we have to do it with the eyes of love, mercy and forgiveness because that is the way He is looking at each one of us and that is the way He sees us. He doesn't see us as we see ourselves, He doesn't see us with the veils we put across our faces. Tonight He told us very openly that He sees us with the eyes of love, mercy and forgiveness! That is what He wants us to take into this world for Him.
