INSPIRED WORD

August 22, 2007

PRAYER

Lord, we bring our hearts to You and You bring Your love to us. Help us to meet together here and enjoy fellowship with You and each other. We praise Your holy name! In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

SCRIPTURE / PRAYER

Acts 4: 30 – 31: “ O Lord, reach out Your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus. When they finished praying, the place where they had gathered was shaken. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to proclaim God's message with boldness.” O God, shake us up! Shake up Your Church, O God! Come, Holy Spirit and renew us; light the fire again in our hearts! Fan that fire into flames; fan it into flames here in this place, here in our hearts and here in Your Church! Let Your fire come, that Your new Pentecost may sweep through Your Church and through Your people!

PRAYER

…..tonight You sent the rain and with it the sun that we can see Your glory and Your majesty. Lord, even in the midst of the desert Your majesty shows forth in the sands. No matter where we are, Lord, if we but open our eyes, the universe does indeed declare Your majesty. So how can we, gathered here, whom You have given voice to and blessed beyond any imagining, not raise our voices to declare Your majesty? You indeed are holy! You are holy! Let us join with the universe declaring that You, our God, are truly holy, holy, holy!

TEACHING / EXHORTATION

…wonderful to be here tonight. We are one, but many parts. We are connected by the Holy Spirit, we have been begotten, and are children of God. We are truly children of God! We have the same Spirit in us, the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead. We have been reconciled to God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We can go to Abba Father Who is truly our Abba Daddy. Do you realize how awesome that is? Praise God! Praise God!

PRAYER

O Jesus, in this place, our tongues confess You as Lord! Our knees bend before You, O Jesus, and our hearts open wide to You, our Savior, Savior of the world. Blessed are You, O Jesus; blessed is Your holy name! Glory to You! Glory to You, Jesus! You are Lord!

PRAYER

…..transformed from glory to glory as Scriptures say. It is through Your grace that Your transformation can happen in us as we become, more and more, Your children and, more and more, one with You, united with the Trinity; sons in the Son. It is Your righteousness that redeems us, Lord Jesus, but it is Your grace, glory and generosity that transforms us as well. So when we look upon the Father's face at the end of our days, He can say, “Well done, good and faithful servant, come into Your Master's home.” Thank You, Jesus, for being with us and inviting us into Your home, into Your life and into Your love!

CONFIRMATION

I confirm that. Earlier when we were singing “Come, Holy Spirit, renew the face of the earth…”, I heard Him saying, “I am coming and I am renewing the face of the earth, and I am doing it one face at a time.” I bet if you do a little self-check, your face is a little different than when you came here tonight.

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 40: 5 - 6, 9 - 12: Happy the man who makes the Lord his trust; who turns not to idolatry or to those who stray after falsehood. How numerous have You made Your wonderous deeds, O Lord, my God. And in Your plans for us there is none to equal You. Should I wish to declare or tell them, they would be too many to recount. To do Your will, O my God, is my delight, and Your law is written within my heart! I announced Your justice in the vast assembly; I do not restrain my lips, as You, O Lord, know. Your justice I kept not hidden within my heart; Your faithfulness and Your salvation I have spoken of; I have made no secret of Your kindness and Your truth in the vast assembly. Withhold not, O Lord, Your compassion from me; may Your kindness and Your truth ever preserve me.

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 139: 1 – 6, 13 – 14: O Lord, You have probed me and you know me; You know when I sit and when I stand; You understand my thoughts from afar. My journeys and my rest You scrutinize, with all my ways You are familiar. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, You know the whole of it. Behind me and before, You hem me in and rest Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; too lofty for me to attain. Truly You have formed my inmost being; You knit me in my mother's womb. I give You thanks that I am fearfully, wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works.

IMAGE / EXHORTATION

The Lord gave me an image of someone walking forward here with a long, really heavy, red cloak; almost something like the Queen of England would wear. I could just feel the heaviness of the cloak; then it just dropped to the floor. I asked the Lord for the meaning of this image. He said, “That is how it will feel if you truly lay your burdens before Me and leave them there. You will feel refreshed and renewed; you will be lightened. Do that tonight – all of you. Leave your burdens here with Me! Lay them before Me!”

CONFIRMATION

I want to confirm that with Psalm 34: 1 – 9: I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall be ever in my mouth. Let my soul glory in the Lord; the lowly will hear me and be glad. Glorify the Lord with me, let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Look to God that you may be radiant with joy, and your faces may not blush with shame. In my misfortune I called; the Lord heard and saved me from all distress. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them. Learn to savor how good the Lord is; happy are those who take refuge in Him. Fear the Lord, you His holy ones, nothing is lacking to those who fear Him.

CONFIRMATION

I just want to confirm the words from Sheila. I was praying in the back and the song that kept running through my mind was the little Sunday School song that says, “He brought me to His banqueting table, His banner over me is love.”

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 21: O Lord, in Your strength the king is glad; in Your victory how greatly he rejoices! You have granted him his heart's desire; You refused not the wish of his lips. For You welcomed him with great blessings, You placed a crown of pure gold on his head. He asked for life of You; You gave him length of days forever and ever. Great is his glory in Your victory; majesty and splendor You have conferred upon him. For You made him a blessing forever; You gladdened him with joy of Your Presence. For the king trusts in the Lord, and through the kindness of the Most High he stands unshaken. May your hand reach all your enemies, may your right hand reach your foes! Make them burn as though in a fiery furnace, when you appear. May the Lord consume them in His anger; let fire devour them. Destroy their fruit from the earth and their posterity from among men. Though they intend evil against you, devising plots, they cannot succeed. For you shall put them to flight; you shall aim at them with your bow.
