INSPIRED WORD
JUNE 21, 2006
PRAYER
Lord, we want to be all for You; we want to give You our hearts in this place here tonight. O Jesus, glory to You! O Jesus, draw us close! Draw us close, O Lord! Draw us close!
SCRIPTURE
Psalm 96:1- 9: Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; announce His salvation day after day. Tell God's glory among the nations; among all peoples, God's marvelous deeds. For great is the Lord and highly to be praised, to be feared above all gods. For the gods of the nations all do nothing, but the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and power go before Him; strength and beauty are in His holy place. Give to the Lord, you families of nations, give to the Lord glory and might; give to the Lord the glory due His name! Bring gifts and enter His courts; bow down to the Lord, splendid in holiness. Tremble before God, all the earth.
PRAYER
Lord, we give You glory and we ask You to let us see Your glory. O Lord, take away in part that veil that we may gaze upon Your holiness, that we may gaze upon Your glory, God, Your love. O Lord, let us see You; let us see Your face in this place.
WORD OF KNOWLEDGE / EXHORTATION
.....and He wants you to know, those of you who are heavy hearted, that He knows what you are going through, that He has not forgotten you, and to remind you that He is in control. He is working all things together for good. Because you love Him, and you come here, He touches your heart and your mind, He touches your body, He wants you to know that His hand is on the situation – totally and completely - and that you have nothing to fear. But He asks one thing; that you pray that the burdens fall off of you, because you were never meant to carry the burdens, it belongs to Jesus – His burdens. His yoke is easy. So let that sit on the shoulders of Jesus, they were made for it, but yours weren't. Just praise Him! Something miraculously happens when you can praise God; even though you don't feel like it. He raises you up; He restores your heart, your joy, your hope, your peace. Tonight He just wants you to give all that you can give; whatever that is, He understands. He wants you to try to move beyond the chains that seem to shackle you and let Him lift you up above it all, and to remind you that you are loved, no matter the circumstance, no matter the sin, no matter the struggle, no matter, no matter! He loves you; He loves you unconditionally. He is calling you to praise Him, not because He needs praise, but He knows that we need to praise Him because of the miracle that happens within our hearts.
PRAYER
We affirm Your holy Presence here in this place. Lord, You ask us to ask for You, to seek You and to knock. Lord Jesus, You have said to us, “Greater things than these will you do when I go to the Father.” Lord, as we prepare to experience and live the gifts of Your Holy Spirit in these weeks to come, we ask You to open wide our hearts that we may truly, truly desire You first and foremost and that we may be yielded to Your action within us, that we may desire Your gifts, not as possessions, but as channels of Your love, as channels of Your grace for others. We ask for them, we desire them, but more than them, we ask for You. We ask for Your holy Presence in our lives and in our hearts, for Your action daily every moment, every hour every day. Lord, give us the grace to be sold out to You. Give us that boldness that we might proclaim Your work, give us that boldness that we might lay hands on and pray for people, give us the boldness to share about You and about Your action in our lives, give us the boldness to step out, O God, and walk across the water as You whisper to us, “Go, go, go.” We pray for that grace, O God!
PRAYER
Lord, the pastor of this parish has asked us to pray that we might be people of hope to others, people of hope in the darkness, people of hope to those in despair, people of hope to those in sorrow, and we ask for that grace for this community and for other Christian communities represented here in this assembly. Lord, without You, we can do nothing! Separated from You, we can do nothing! Without the action of Your Spirit, we can do nothing, so we ask for Him.
SCRIPTURE
This verse just popped off the page at me and I feel like tonight He wants to minister to someone here through this. 2 Corinthians 2:14 : “But thanks be to God, Who always leads us in triumph in Christ and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.” Now that is a verse of victory. He leads us in triumph in Christ and He manifests through us, these earthen vessels, the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.
SCRIPTURE
Tonight the Lord placed on my heart this Scripture: John 14:12–14 : Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in Me will do the work that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father. And whatever you ask in My name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of Me, in My name, I will do it.
