SCRIPTURE

Psalm 99:1-5: The Lord is King; let the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned upon the Cherubim; let the earth quake! The Lord is great in Zion; He is exalted over all the peoples. Let them praise Your great and awesome Name. Holy is He! Mighty King, Lover of Justice, You have established equity; You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob. Extol the Lord our God; worship at His footstool. Holy is He!

A little girl had a necklace of pearls. It was a cheap necklace of plastic pearls, but she liked it very much. One day her father came and asked her for it, but she liked it, so she wouldn't give it to him. He turned and went away. This happened several times and finally the little girl sadly gave her father her favorite little necklace. Then her father gave her a great necklace of real pearls; not just one pearl of great price, but a whole strand of pearls. There were more pearls than even she could count. That is the message from the Lord – give up what you are holding on to and He will give you something great in return.

SCRIPTURE

Ephesians 6:10–17: Finally, be strong in the Lord and His Mighty Power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace In addition to all of this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert always keep on praying for all the saints.

PRAYER / EXHORTATION

Lets look to Jesus. Lord Jesus, in all the circumstances in which we find ourselves, the battle belongs to You! Can we tell Him that? Jesus, the battle belongs to You! Being able to praise in freedom as Your children and to worship You here tonight. This certainly belongs to You, O Lord. Take everything that we have and everything that we are right now. I am going to ask you to stand to your feet. I feel that we really need to push against this tonight; that we need to move in toward the the Word tonight; that we need to do it with persistence, with focus and with energy. We need to praise Him, even though we might be tired, even though we may be weighed down by things. Our Lord deserves our praise because He is Holy and He is worthy of our praise! We want to move beyond anything that may weigh us down, so Lord God, give us the grace to move toward You tonight.

SCRIPTURE / PRAYER

1 Chronicles 29:10-13,20: When the gifts were brought to build the temple, David began to praise God and he said, in front of the people, “Lord God of our ancestor Jacob, may You be praised forever and ever. Yours, O Lord, are grandeur and power, glory, splendor and majesty. Everything in heaven and on earth is Yours; and You are King, Supreme Ruler over all. All riches and wealth come from You; You rule everything by Your strength and power and You are able to make anyone great and strong. Now, our God, we give You thanks and we praise Your glorious Name.” Then David commanded the people, “Praise the Lord, Your God!” And the whole assembly praised the Lord, the God of their ancestors. They bowed low and gave honor to the Lord and also to the king. And we give honor to the Lord and the King of kings, Who is Jesus, because You, Lord, are a great God. You are glorious and strong! You, O Lord, are a great God and You move in our lives to change circumstances. You move in our lives to dry the tears from our eyes; You move in our lives to reveal Yourself to us in the glory of Your creation. You move in our lives, Lord, to whisper to us the direction that we should go and so Lord, we praise You. We do as David said; we, Your people, gather here in this place to give You praise, for You alone are a great God, glorious and strong!

PRAYER

Lord, we come before You and we do lay down all the things of today. We don't want to let this time right now pass by without getting the opportunity to love You and to let You love us. Sometimes we are so good at loving You and trying. So let us take a deep breath right now, so that we can breathe You in, the kiss of Your breath. So Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit and Father, would You breathe upon each of us here. Your love never changes; it is always the same. You love us the way we are and we love You.
