SCRIPTURE
Hebrews 4: 14 – 16: Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
EXHORTATION / SCRIPTURE
We have had two readings from the Book of Hebrews and so I was drawn very strongly to the Book of Hebrews . One thing we hear over and over again is that Scripture comes alive and I know that I have read the whole Book of Hebrews . Tonight as I was reading Chapters 9 and 10 , I am pretty sure that this is the first time I have heard Chapters 9 and 10, but they have spoken to me tonight with a life that I have never been so open. If your heart has been stirred by the message of salvation tonight and you are looking for this to come alive in a new way, I challenge you to read these two chapters which ties our Old Testament heritage with the gift of the salvation of Christ and it ends with, “But we are not among those who draw back and perish, but among those who have faith and will possess life.” (Verse 39 ) Scripture does come alive in the most surprising ways!!
CONFIRMATION
This is just a confirmation of what Margie just said. In Scripture we often read John 3:16 , sometimes even at ball games, someone will have a poster that reads John 3:16 . It is such an important verse, but don't forget about verse 17 which follows it. Just listen to John 3: 16 and 17: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.”
PROPHECY
Also in this place here tonight He says, ”I have brushed away your offences like a cloud, your sins like a mist; return to Me for I have redeemed you.”
