INSPIRED WORD

NOVEMBER 15, 2006

EXHORTATION

... the look in your eyes - in our eyes – God is speaking to us. The look in your eyes has stolen My heart. There are other words in there too, but that is really the jest of verse 9. That all we do is to come before God and we look at Him and He loves us so much that He says that we have stolen His heart. If He loves us that much and He is telling us that, then we should be able to focus on that love and step out in boldness to praise Him. We can start doing that right here, right now tonight. Next week is Thanksgiving with our families and we can start thanking God for that right here and now by focusing on His love and praising Him.

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 24:7-9: Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you everlasting doors and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates, and lift up you everlasting doors and the King of glory shall come in.

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 37:2-4: Like green plants, they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good, that you may dwell in the land and enjoy safe pastures. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.

SCRIPTURE / SHARING

As we were singing that song, the Scripture that came to mind was, “If you, with all your sins, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to anyone who asks Him.” (Matthew 7:11) God brought to my mind a situation that happened yesterday with my dog. His head had gotten stuck in between the bars of his kennel. After greasing his head with oil and butter, and still not being able to get his head out from between the bars, I asked the neighbor if I could borrow his pair of pliers. But that didn't work either. So I called the Humane Society and they told me to call the fire department. When the firemen arrive, they were laughing so hard they could barely walk into the house. The Lord made it known to me that sometimes we get our heads stuck in places where we don't want them to be, and we forget how to approach Him and ask for His help. It is an encouragement to me to know that no matter what happens, He still has a plan and will help us through and out of it.

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 145:13-21: The Lord is faithful to all of His promises and loving toward all He has made. The Lord upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food at the proper time. You open Your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. The Lord is righteous in all His ways and loving toward all He has made. The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them. The Lord watches over all who love Him and all the wicked He will destroy. My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord. Let every creature praise His holy name forever and ever.

IMAGE / PROPHECY

I have this image in my mind of a tremendous feast. If you have been to a big wedding, you know that the food is all prepared and set out on the tables. But nobody wants to be first in line. Everyone stands around and talks and in the back of your mind, you are saying, “Man, I am hungry; I wish somebody would go first.” That is the thought that is going through my mind. The words that come with that are: “O My people, I have prepared a banquet before you and I love you, My people, but you are hesitant. Why do you not step forward and help yourself of that which is before you? You speak of hunger and thirst, and I am here to quench those things for you. But you, My people, must step forth; you must step forth and take that in which you have asked. For I have prepared the banquet, but you must come; you must come and share of it. Do not hesitate any longer, My people, surrender, surrender to the desires that I have placed in your hearts. You desire gifts; I give them to you. Be not afraid to use them. You desire energy and strength; it is yours, My people, take of it. O My people, I love you, but you are hesitant. Wait no longer; step forth and take that which I have prepared for you.

SHARING

He is talking about His Presence, living in us, and that is the feast that He asks us to come and eat from the table; to join Him there, to rejoice with Him at His banquet. This is the best news! The God and Creator of the universe has invited us to His table, to join together with our brothers and sisters throughout the land in worshiping Him, sharing a meal with Him, and sitting in His Presence. He is the Creator of the Universe and He wants to share a meal with us. I have the best expression: Jesus was a beer and pretzel kind of guy! We have put Him up high on a pedestal that we can't even get to Him. We forget the fact that He became human.

SCRIPTURE

This really happened. My Bible literally fell open to this page and it is Isaiah 25:6-8: On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich good for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine – the best of meats and the finest of wines. On this mountain He will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; He will remove the disgrace of His people from all the earth. The Lord has spoken.

SCRIPTURE

Our Lord opened up this Bible for me about 15 minutes ago to this passage in 1 Corinthians 13: (verses 4-8) and I prayed about when I should read it. The time is now. “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not rejoice over wrong doing, but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things; believes all things; hopes all things; endures all things. Love never fails.”

SHARING

I prayed to the Lord that He would keep me from falling so deep and to pull me up. In the midst of it all, I felt His strength and His peace. And in times when I feel I have no more strength, I trust that He will mount me on the wings of an eagle and that all will be well again with me. So if there is anybody here who has ever been there too, just know that God is carrying you and everything will be okay.
