INSPIRED WORD
July 15, 2009
SCRIPTURE
Matthew 4: 18 – 20: “ As He walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea - for they were fishermen. He said to them, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.' Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.”
PRAYER
.... in to show us the Father's love. You came that we might know the great love that the Father has for us. And now as we open our hearts to You, You pour out that love anew, so
that we may know the love that You have for us and the love the Father has for us. So that when you send us, we will have the full knowledge of that love. Come, Lord Jesus, into
this assembly here tonight. We open our hearts to receive that love which You want to pour out upon us. You are indeed our Savior and there is none like You!
SHARING
In our evangelization, we don't have to be perfect to evangelize. I have seen that happen in other areas of my life, in regards to using the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in Prayer Group. I would come in here feeling dark and soiled, but still the Holy Spirit used me. So don't think that you have to reach a certain level of perfection to evangelize. We are called to evangelize, to open ourselves to let the Spirit work through us.
SCRIPTURE
Mark 16: 14 – 16: “The Commissioning of the Eleven”. But later, as the eleven were at table, He appeared to them and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart because they had not believed those who saw Him after He had been raised. He said to them, “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every living creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.”
PRAYER
Truth, Your truth, is a part of Who You are, God. Lord, we ask that You would help us not to shy away from hard truth, but to respond with courage, leaning on that strength. Lord, You are not a marshmallow God, You are a God of granite, of stone, of strength. In response to that, we yield, Lord Jesus. We yield to You!
IMAGE
I was getting this image. I think we have all seen them – the trees that grow on the hillside of a mountain, especially around the timberline where the air is thin, the conditions are rough and where the winds and storms are the hardest. The branches are gnarled and crooked. The trees that flourish in these areas are deeply routed. Earlier we were talking about evangelization and that if we are deeply routed in our faith, then we can withstand all of the storms and trials of this world. So like those trees, if we are deeply routed in our faith, then we can withstand all of the storms and trials of this life.
PROPHECY
... you who I love. Come to Me, fear Me not!! Let Me embrace you; come to Me, feel My love! Come to Me, walk with Me, talk with Me, trust Me, and let Me be your strength. Let Me be your guide, let Me show you the way! And then, knowing My love for you, go! Knowing My love for you, go to those places to which I send you. Knowing My love for you, go, bring My Presence, speak My Word, bring My strength, and speak My hope! Come to Me and be refreshed; go and speak My Word and bring My love. Come, I love you!!
PRAYER
Lord, we thank You so much for Your sacrifice, Your salvation, for Your love, Your Presence, for Your commission, and for Your call. Lord, we pray that we will be anointed with fresh zeal and a deeper knowledge of Your love here in this place tonight. Anoint us with a deeper commitment to spread Your Word. Open our hearts, Holy Spirit, for this anointing!
