INSPIRED WORD

FEBRUARY 15, 2006

IMAGE / EXHORTATION

......asked the Lord for an interpretation of that and He wants you to know that if

you are in a airplane, and you are in trouble, the last thing you want to do is go where you think you want to go. There comes a time, when the only way you are going to come out alive is if you trust the instruments on that plane. The instruments will tell you whether you are going up or going down. We have such an instrument; it is the Lord Himself. We need Him to dwell in our hearts so that we focus, not on our circumstances, not on what is going on around us, but we rely on that instrument within. All night tonight, we have heard about unity, but that unity comes from a single focus on that single instrument, the Lord Himself within. Even in the music tonight, it has all been an invitation for Jesus to come into our hearts. If He is not there, guess who moved. So the Lord really wants us to be open to His coming back to dwell within us. Amen.

SHARING / EXHORTATION

From Naomi's story in the Bible, in the Book of Ruth, I learned that dreams for good things may shatter, but that our pain will always have a purpose, our pain will always have a purpose. Iit will not go away, but it will do its work and it will stir an appetite for a higher purpose; a better hope of knowing God long enough to love Him above everything else. Trust in Him, no matter what happens. The best hope, the highest dream of being in His Presence where nothing ever goes wrong and where we fully enjoy Him more than every other blessing, will not be granted to us until the next life. We will not suffer in Heaven. Every imaginable dream will come true. Pain will have no purpose then.

PRAYER

When bad things happen, Your Providence brings good out of it in some way. We give You thanks and praise for that; for being with us in all circumstances. Glory and praise to You!

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 67: May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face shine upon us, that Your ways may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations. May the peoples praise You, O God; may all the peoples praise You. May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for You rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth. May the peoples praise You, O God; may all the peoples praise You. Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear Him.

SCRIPTURE / PRAYER

Isaiah 61: The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me; He has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display His glory. We are not like any other people because we are the Lord's people. We have this hope within us and it is Christ, the Anchor of our Hope. Lord, we thank You that even as

David said, that he believed in the goodness of the Lord and land of the living. Lord, we thank You that we have all eternity to be with You. Lord, how much we thank You that we have You in the here and now. You didn't leave us alone; You told us that You would never leave us or forsake us. Your breath is upon us. You are our closest friend; You are our savior, You are our Lord, You keep our going in and coming out. You numbered the hairs on our head; You count our tears and collect them in a bottle. Who could understand Your ways? All we know, Lord, is that there is none like You. You are the Almighty One and You care for us, You love us. Lord, as Christians, we have this hope within us that no one else has. We have a God of love, mercy and grace that gave Himself for us; Who died for us. Lord, we want to be ambassadors of You; we want to be those who reach out to the brokenhearted, and to those who are mourning, both in our family of believers and also to those who don't know You, who have no hope. This is a broken world! But God, keep turning our faces back toward You. Lord, look our way and turn our faces so that we are captured by Your gaze and don't ever let us look away. Draw us, Lord, so that we run after You, because You are the Love of our souls. All we want to do is love You and tell others about Your goodness, Your greatness. There is none like You! We worship You, Lord, and we love You! We love You!

SENSE / EXHORTATION

I was sensing the same thing. We are broken people and there are times in our lives when we are looking for answers, but we are looking for the answers in all of the wrong places. God wants us to cry out to Him. He is our Abba, Father; He is the One Who cares for us. He is the One Who rocks us in His arms and holds us; He picks us up when we fall. There is nothing greater than that; there is no greater love than what the Father has for us. All He wants us to do us come. He says, “Come and trust Me! This ride may be a little scary, it may be a little bumpy, but just trust Me because I am going to bring you through it.” He is not a God Who is there just in the good times, but He is also there with us in the bad times. If you need to know Him as a God Who sees and loves you, cry out to Him. He considers your tears so incredibly precious. I want to encourage you because I have been in those places where you have nothing else to lose. You have tried all of the other options and none of them have worked. Cry out to Him, cry out “Abba, Father, come and rescue me!” He will do just that! He will come to you!
