INSPIRED WORD
JUNE 12, 2006
SCRIPTURE / PRAYER
Acts 4:30-31: “ They prayed, 'Reach out Your hand, O Lord, to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.' After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and and began to proclaim God's message with boldness.” Lord, they prayed that two thousand years ago and they have prayed that many times since. Lord, we are gathered here in this place and we are praying it tonight. Lord Jesus, we are asking You to stretch forth Your hand and heal, to release the gifts in Your people, to release the faith in Your people, to walk among us, to meet the needs, to cure the blind, to give hearing to the deaf, to raise those who are bowed down, and to give joy to those who are in despair. Lord, stretch forth Your mighty hand tonight. O God, we give You praise!
SCRIPTURE
Psalm 145:1-7: I would exalt You, my God and King, I will praise Your name forever and ever. Every day I will praise You, and extol Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom. One generation will commend Your works to another, they will tell of Your mighty acts. They will speak of the glorious wonder of Your majesty and I will meditate on Your wonderful works. They will tell of the power of Your awesome works, and I will proclaim Your great deeds. They will celebrate Your abundant goodness, and sing joyfully of Your righteousness.
SCRIPTURE / PRAYER
We do want to sing of Your great love forever and ever, O Lord. In Psalm 40:1-3: it says: “I waited patiently for the Lord; He inclined to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the miry bog and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.” We thank You, Lord, for putting that new song, that song of praise, into our mouths, that no matter where we walk, where we are, You indeed draw us up to You, and put a new song in our mouth, a song of praise. Many will see that and be glad and put their trust in You.
SENSE / EXHORTATION
As I was standing in the back, worshiping and seeing the hunger for the Presence of the Lord, I really felt that the Lord was confirming that in my heart and that He was saying to us tonight, “I am coming to bring My fire in My Presence and I am coming to bring My joy.” I am encouraging you to open up Your hearts to Him and ask God to fill this place and lift us up tonight, in His Presence.
CONFIRMATION / PRAYER
I confirm that, because about three years ago, a prayer was handed out for us to pray daily. The prayer begins: “Come, Holy Spirit, with the power of a mighty wind and renew in our days Your miracles as of a new Pentecost.....” But the prayer ends like this: “Let Your Presence be experienced among us that Your glory may be made manifest to Your people and in Your Presence, we may be changed.” Let Your Presence be experienced among us, O God, so that Your glory may be made manifest to us and in Your glory and in Your Presence, we may be changed.
PRAYER
Lord, you baptized us with Your Holy Spirit and with fire. I ask, O Lord, that that fire will warm, will bring light, will purify and will spread to all those we come in contact with, so that others may see You, in Jesus' name. Amen.
SCRIPTURE / PRAYER
Acts 4:8-10: “ And Peter, full of the Holy Spirit, answered them, “Leaders of the people, if we are being questioned today about a good deed done to this cripple and how he was healed, then all of you and all the people of Israel should know that this man stands here before you completely well, through the power of the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Whom you crucified, and Whom God raised from the dead. Jesus is the One of Whom the Scriptures says ....” (then it talks about Him.) But it was in the name of Jesus that the early Church prayed; it was in the name of Jesus that our ancestors prayed, and it is in the name of Jesus that we pray now for those who have various needs. Let us ask the Lord to anoint the hands of the assembly here. If you feel the anointing and feel tingling in your hands, I want you to come up front here and face the assembly. Lord, we are going to ask You to bring forth those whom You have brought here for prayer tonight.
SCRIPTURE / PROPHECY
Luke 4:14-21: “Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news of Him spread throughout the whole region. He began to teach in the synagogues and was praised by everyone. He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up, and went according to His custom into the synagogue on the sabbath day. He stood up to read and was handed a scroll of the prophet Isaiah. He unrolled the scroll and found the passage where it was written: 'The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.' Rolling up the scroll, He handed it back to the attendant and sat down, and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him. He said to them, 'Today this scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.'” The Lord says to us, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing. I have anointed you with the same Spirit in which I was anointed, and I will send you forth to bring good news to the poor, to heal those who are in need of healing, that My power may show that the Spirit of the Lord is upon you.
