INSPIRED WORD
NOVEMBER 10, 2004

EXHORTATION
My children, be open that I might use you the way that I want to use You.

PROPHECY
You wept tears that you might hear Me, rather than wailing against Me that I might hear you. When was the last time you were on your knees, praying, “Lord, not my will but Yours be done”, instead of begging to have it done your way. I say to you,” I hear you, I know your travails and your anguish. I know the pain in the depths of your heart; believe me, I experienced all of them on the cross and experience them every time you feel them. The pain, the tears, the anger, I know them all too well. But I seek a heart that seeks My heart, that says, “Lord, Your will be done in me, as it already is in Heaven”.

INSPIRED TEACHING
What is the greatest of commandments? He repeats the Shema. The Shema was something that every Jew would pray several times a day. It is: “Hear, O Israel, the Lord, your God. The Lord is One; you shall love the Lord, your God with all your strength, with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind. And the second commandment is much like this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself”. But the first one is most important. Before Jesus begins His ministry, He was driven out into the desert by the Spirit, after He is baptized by John. And what does He hear right before He goes into the desert? “This is my beloved Son” and in some passages, ”You are my beloved Son in Whom I am well pleased”. Part of the mission of the desert was to internalize that reality that God loved Him. That is the only reason He was able to resist the temptation of the devil, because He grasped it. To His core, He grasped it…that God loved Him. Because it is only when God loves us first, that we are able to love Him back; and that is what He calls for….He calls for a radical type of love…”down in the core” type of love. Think about the Apostles… when He comes to see the Apostles, they are living their life. They have a life and He comes and He says, “Follow Me!” It must have penetrated their hearts. “Follow Me!” So they dropped everything, everything, to follow Him because they sensed His love. I was thinking about this whole thing of prayer, and was thinking ‘how can we pray like the Lord wants us to pray? How can we be solid and secure?' It is by going to Him; it is about realizing that depth of His love for us. This is a Psalm I was reading (Psalm 130): ‘Out of the depths I cry to You, O Lord; Lord, here my voice; let Your ears be intentive to the voice of my supplications. If You, O Lord, should mark iniquities, Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, so that You may be revered. I wait for the Lord; my soul waits and in His word I hope. My soul waits for the Lord. More than those who watch for the morning,my soul waits for the Lord. O Israel, hope in the Lord, for with the Lord there is steadfast love and with Him is great power to redeem. It is He, Who will redeem Israel from all its iniquities. And Jesus comes out of the desert, and He says, “Repent and believe the good news”. And what is the good news… that God so loved the world that He sent His only Son to bring us forgiveness of sin and the promise of eternal life and the power of the Holy Spirit to live, to live.

INSPIRED PRAYER
Father, I would like to offer up a prayer to You tonight. We are a community of believers, a community of prayer, and I want to offer up a prayer to You, to worship You, adore You and magnify Your holy name. You alone are worthy of honor, You alone are worthy of all praise, we exalt You and praise You and magnify Your holy name, Lord Jesus. For You are the King of kings, the Lord of lords, You are the Alpha, the Omega, the Beginning and the End. Before You every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that You are Lord, to the glory of God, the Father. We are coming back to the heart of worship and it is all about You, Jesus. It is all about You! Sometimes things change in our lives and we are not sure what to do about that; but the one thing that is the same, Father, is You, You are always the same…the same yesterday, today and forever. We exalt You and thank You for that, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. The name before Whom every knee shall bow and every tongue confess, that He is the Lord, to the glory of God, the Father, all things in Heaven, on earth and under the earth….every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord. Alleluia to the King of kings!

INSPIRED SCRIPTURE
Revelation 7:9-12 : I saw a vast crowd too great to count, from all nations and all provinces and all languages, standing in front of the throne before the Lamb clothed in white. With palm branches in their hands, they were shouting with a mighty shout, “Salvation comes from our God, upon the throne and from the Lamb”. And now all the angels were crowding around the throne, around the elders and the four living beings and falling face down before the throne, they were worshipping God. “Amen”, they said, “blessing and glory, wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever”.

INSPIRED SCRIPTURE
Psalm 27 : One thing that I have asked from the Lord that I shall seek that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple. When Thou did say, “Seek My face”, my heart said to Thou, “Thy face, O Lord, I shall seek. I would have despaired unless I believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for the Lord.

I long for time with you, my beloved, but you busy yourself, you busy yourself with other things to do. I say to you now, my beloved, see Me, hear Me, not with the eyes of this world; not with the ears of this world, but with the eyes and the ears of your heart. Yes, my beloved, as you long for Me, I long for you. Do not run and hide, but come to Me. Come to Me daily. Spend time with Me, my beloved, find the time, my beloved, it is there, find the time.

Why do you not reach out; why do you not stretch out your hands? Do you not hear me, my beloved? Do you not know it is I? It is I Who calls you. It is I Who calls you to come to me; to run, to jump, to come with joy. It is I Who calls you, my beloved ones and yet, you hesitate. Do not fear; open your heart to Me, come!

EXHORTATION
By our lives, in many ways, in many places, we get stressed out and worried. In the process of doing it, we overlook the fact that our Father is the Almighty, the Creator of Heaven and earth, He loves us very much. He is not the cruel God that enjoys seeing us suffer. When He wants us to see His will, He will make it so plain, so clear, that we won't have any hesitation or doubt. If you have hesitations or doubts, it is not God's will; it is your will. God's will is clear. God doesn't want us to be downcast. He gave us pretty specific instructions through the Apostle Paul when He told us, and He is still telling us, “rejoice always”. Pray without ceasing, give thanks in all things, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for us all. Rejoice always!

INSPIRED PRAYER
We place everything…the concerns, the joys, worries, sufferings; we place everything into Your hands collectively, Lord Jesus. We release them into Your hands, Lord Jesus.

Venn Diagram Image
Tonight I had an image that stems somewhat from my mathematical background. I had an image of a venn diagram. This is a way of organizing items by characteristics into groupings using overlapping circles. The circles I saw included parts of our lives we might classify as “holy” such as attending Mass, receiving the sacraments, Prayer group, etc. The other circle contained the rest of our lives and the things we do. Where the circles overlapped is where we invite God into our lives to lead and guide us and be with us. Some of us might be in a place where the two circles barely even touch. We are being called to surrender the parts of our lives we are keeping from God into His will. We are to continue this process of surrender as long as even a sliver of circle remains outside of what is in God's hands. Likewise we are to view the “holy” parts of lives not as separate and detached from our “regular life but a central part of our life that brings us closer to God's will. We are being asked to have a total eclipse of the heart.
