INSPIRED WORD
JANUARY 10, 2007
EXHORTATION
One of the things that came to my mind when we were singing the last part of that song is that “Amen” means “Yes, let it be done.” As I was thinking of that, the Holy Spirit said, “Say yes, and let it be done to the coming in of My Presence tonight.”
EXHORTATION
The Lamb, Who has died, is risen, so that we may have life, life to the fullest. Come into His Presence with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Be thankful unto Him and bless His name, for the Lord is good. His mercy is everlasting and His truth endures for all generations. Praise You, Jesus!
SCRIPTURE
Hosea 14:1-2,4-6: Return, O Israel, to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled because of your iniquity. Take words with you and return to the Lord; say to Him, “Take away all guilt; accept that which is good, and we will offer the fruit of our lips. The Lord answers, “I will heal their disloyalty; I will love them freely, for My anger has turned from them. I will be like the dew of Israel; he shall blossom like the lily, he shall strike root like the forests of Lebanon. His shoots shall spread out; his beauty shall be like the olive tree, and his fragrance like that of Lebanon.”
CONFIRMING SCRIPTURE
Isaiah 43:18-19,25: Remember not the events of the past, the things of long ago consider not; see, I am doing something new! Now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? It is I, I, Who wipe out, for My own sake, your offenses; your sins I remember no more.
CONFIRMING SCRIPTURE
Psalm 51:9-14: Clean me with hyssop and I will be clean; wash me and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joyous gladness; let the bones You have crushed rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from Your Presence or take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing spirit to sustain me.
PROPHECY
My children, you are set apart; you have been refined by the fire. You are My instruments; you are My peacemakers; you I will use to touch others, to bring others to Me; to bring peace in your lives and their lives. Be open to Me! You are My children and I love you!
PRAYER
He wipes away our sins; He forgives us; so now in this moment of grace, we can say in our hearts, “Lord, we have turned away from You at times in our lives, maybe even recently. We repent of those things now. We receive Your love, Your mercy and Your forgiveness, Help us, not only to turn away, but to keep away from all those things that separate us from You. Lord, we receive Your mercy! Lord, we receive Your joy that comes from Your forgiveness! Lord, we give You praise!
TONGUES
INTERPRETATION
How much more will I care for you, My children? What father among you would give his son a snake if he asked for a fish? A stone if he asked for bread? How much more will I give good things to those who ask for them? My children, do not be afraid to come to Me. My children, do not be afraid to sit on My lap; to be held in My arms. My children, do not be afraid to love Me; do not be afraid to let Me love you.
INTERPRETATION
Hear Me, My children, your sins are as far from Me as the east is from the west. Do not dwell on the past, for I make all things new. I am a God of the present.
INTERPRETATION
Hear Me, My children, I am doing things tonight. I am forgiving, I am cleansing and I am recreating.
TONGUES
INTERPRETATION
My precious children, come to Me, surrender to Me, take My hand and I will lead you. Surrender all that you have to Me and don't worry about anything because you won't lose anything; I will fill you up.
PRAYER
Lord, we accept Your mercy and Your forgiveness. You call us, O God, to lay our hearts down before You. O Lord, when we pray, we are hungry and thirsty and we need for you to fill us up with Your holy Presence. We want more of You, O Lord, and less of us! More of You and less of us! Jesus, Jesus, receive the trust of Your people and their re-commitment!
SHARING
If you allow Him, He will come to you. He doesn't force Himself on you; His love is a gift, freely given and freely received. When we worship and praise Him, we are offering our lives to Him. We are making a throne for Him to sit upon, with our praise and our love, so that He can be the King and Lord of our lives.
SHARING
As we sang those last songs, it caused me to reflect on the words of those songs. Deep inside me there is a real hunger, and I know that it is not a hunger that solid food can satisfy. Money can't satisfy; cars can't do it; homes can't do it. I might have those things, but the hunger remains. The thirst is there also. The strange thing is that because I have tasted just a tiny bit, just a tiny morsel of the Lord's love for me, the hunger grows greater and the dryness increases to where the thirst is more urgent. This last song made me reflect because I can be hungry and I can be thirsty, and I can build that throne room, but I have to be careful about what I place in it. I can invite the Lord in, but if I place something else in that throne room, then I have pushed Him aside. As the Lord has called us tonight, I think, and we know, that it is He Who puts the hunger and thirst in our hearts even more. Because that is exactly what He is feeling. He has built a throne room for us and He is faithful; totally faithful to us because He does not fill it with anything, but it remains empty, waiting for us to enter it.
CONFIRMATION / EXHORTATION
I would like to confirm what Mel just said about what is on your throne. There are many things that we can put on that throne. For me personally, the Lord has really been calling me in some pretty hard ways these past couple of months. He wants me to take down the things that I want to put up on that throne. Whatever it is, it has to go if God is going to be truly God. In a way, that is a very hard thing to swallow; because there are so many times that we want to say, “God, this isn't how I would do it; this isn't how I would want it to look, if I had an option.” There is something so much greater, than when you allow Him to be on that throne, then He can come in and do the work that He wants to do. I don't know how to encourage you to remove from that throne the things that need to come off, except to say whatever is on that throne needs to come off. If it is anger, it needs to come off. If it is bitterness, it needs to come off. If it is rejection, it needs to come off. God said, “Whatever is of Me will stand, but whatever is not of Me will fall.” It is a very painful thing to see those things fall that you have built up. I had built up things that I thought that were my identity, or I thought that this is how things should go. I just want to encourage all of you that whatever God is calling you to take off that throne, just do it.
PRAYER
Lord, You have brought us through repentance and we receive Your forgiveness; You purify us and give us Your mercy. You call us to be people of praise, to praise You with our lives, to praise You with our words. You call us to surrender truly to You; to let You take the throne of our hearts. Sometimes things move in and take Your place and we do not want that. We want to be a purified people dedicated to You alone. We ask for that grace and it is a grace, to be that kind of people surrendered to You, truly surrendered to You and confident in Your mercy and in Your ways. Have Your way in this place, O Lord! This evening and every evening, not our way, O God, but Your way!
SCRIPTURE
Ezekiel 36:23-29: I will assure the holiness of My great name, which has been profaned among nations, the name you have profaned among them; then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the sovereign Lord, when I show Myself holy through you before their eyes. I will take you out of the nations and I will gather you from all the countries, and bring you back into your own land. I will sprinkle clean water on you, and make you clean. I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart, and put a new spirit in you; and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My spirit in you, and move you to follow My decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Then you will live in the land that I gave to your forefathers; and you will be My people and I will be your God. I will save you from your uncleanness.
