INSPIRED WORD
July 9. 2008
TEACHING
…..those words which were from last week and that Ray brought to us again. We said ‘desire' – look at this song – more of Your glory, more of Your power, more of Your Spirit in me. There is the desire right there. Then we were told that we need to ask and to listen, speak to my heart; then we had ‘trust' – and Ray added ‘being fruitful'. I think right there, ‘manifest yourself in Me' – we trust God to be present in our lives and when He is present in our lives, we are fruitful. This is a song of the very things that we have been talking about.
TONGUES
INTERPRETATION
I command you to be firm and steadfast. Do not fear nor be dismayed. For the Lord, Your God, is with you wherever you go.
PROPHECY
But you say to me, “Change my life”, but this I cannot do. In order for your life to change and to bear fruit, you must act . You must obey and must trust. I desire you to be mine. My plans for you are good, but you must act . Trust My voice, act obediently, and we will bear much fruit.
CONFIRMATION
I confirm that. I just felt the Lord calling us to put our pieces into the puzzle. The only way we can really manifest Him to the world is if we spend that time in His Presence, spend that time before Him. Believe me, I need to listen to my own advice – lately I have been taking more time and just sit still before God and let him re-arrange the ‘furniture' in my life. That was on my heart – sometimes the action is this kind of ‘non-action'. Sometimes the action is just being before the Lord and really taking that time – not just thinking it is a good idea to take that time, but actually doing it. The Lord has moved in my heart. So I recommend that to you. I wanted to recommend something else that you did as a group – singing the Psalms together. I read about that recently in a spiritual book; it said to open up the Psalms, find a tune and sing the Psalms out loud to the Lord. Those Psalms cover the manifold of human experience. So come before the Lord and be open – allow Him to come in, invite Him, give Him permission to move in you. We have such an awesome gathering here and when you and I go back out into the world, we have such a gift in sharing in the apostolate of God. As Father Paul said recently, “There has to be a choice where we become more intentional about our discipleship.” That means spending time with the Lord and letting Him move within us and inviting His Spirit, turning away from evil things. It is about just letting go of the junk and the garbage in our lives and allowing His Spirit to move within us so that we can manifest Him to the world. Praise You, Lord, for Your goodness, Your faithfulness and Your kindness to us!
CONFIRMATION
When Mel was speaking in Tongues, I also kept hearing the words ‘faith' and ‘love'. I didn't understand it all until I heard others sharing their thoughts and feelings. Then it came together - that if we keep faith and trust in God's love, He will bring about the change that we each need.
SCRIPTURE
Before the Prayer Meeting, when we put together the song list for this evening, prayer is a big part of that preparation. We ask the Lord what He wants to talk about tonight to His people. He is very faithful about this in what He is trying to say to us through the music. But I find it very reassuring in the words from Isaiah 42:10 – 12, 16: “Sing to the Lord a new song, His praise from the end of the earth! Let the sea and what fills it resound, the coastlands, and those who dwell in them. Let the steppe and its cities cry out, the villages where Kedar dwells; let the habitants of Sela exult, and shout from the top of the mountains. Let them give glory to the Lord, and utter His praise in the coastlands.” Then it goes on to talk about His promise of redemption and restoration and His faithfulness that He comes as a warrior.
“I will lead the blind on their journey; by paths unknown to them I will guide them. I will turn darkness into light before them, and make crooked ways straight. These things I do for them, and I will not forsake them.”
