INSPIRED WORD

August 6, 2008

PRAYER

...we want it uncorked within us so that it might flow out, to touch others, to touch our world, with Your gifts and the power of Jesus. O Holy Spirit, come into our hearts. We thank You for coming into this place; here Your anointing begins on us. We welcome You! Change us, O Lord, in the areas that we need to be changed. Make us open, O God, open to being used by You!

TONGUES

INTERPRETATION

He does delight when we sing to Him and offer our praises to Him. It is a sweet, sweet sound in His ears. The Lord says to us, “Continue to praise Me; continue to worship Me in the power of the Holy Spirit.” As we worship Him and praise Him, we will begin to see His power manifested. We will see the power of the Holy Spirit manifested in our midst as we continue to praise and to worship.

PRAYER

Lord, You pour forth Your love upon us, into every heart in this place. Lord, we are moved to respond to You, to draw close to You and to surrender our hearts to You. We are moved to make You first, to give You a rightful place and to surrender to You because of the great love You have for us. We have nothing to fear, O God! Nothing, O Jesus! You embrace us with such tender love.

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 150: Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens! Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for His surpassing greatness! Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet; praise Him with the lyre and harp! Praise Him with tambourine and dancing; praise Him with the strings and flute! Praise Him with the clash of cymbals; praise Him with resounding cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!

SENSE

I had this overwhelming sense that as we are singing these songs of adoration and worship to God, He is transforming our words and singing them right back to us. He is inserting our names and He is saying, “I love you, My child and I send you My voice to encourage you.” He calls our names and He calls us holy and anointed. The love that is felt creates a harmony as we have our whole and intense focus on Him and He has His eyes on us. It is just this overwhelming love that is being poured out during these songs, as our worship is being reciprocated in this love. It is just amazing!

SENSE

The sense that I have is that we have been speaking to the Lord and the Lord now wants to speak to us. So I am going to ask if we can have total silence for a few minutes. Don't be anxious, don't be scared; just sit quietly and allow the Lord to talk to us, either individually or as a community.

PROPHECY

Open your hearts to Me, My children, and I will give you more of My love, more of My power, more of My grace. Open Your hearts to Me tonight!

SCRIPTURE / PROPHECY

John 20: 21 – 22, 24 – 28: In the gospel of John we hear of Jesus after His resurrection, appearing to His disciples and saying to them, “Peace be with you. The Father has sent Me, so I send you.” And when He said this, He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” But Thomas was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But Thomas said to them, “Unless I see the marks of the nails in His hands, and put my finger in the mark of the nails, and my hand in His side, I will not believe it.” A week later, His disciples were again in the house and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas answered Him, “My Lord and my God!” Tonight the Lord has visited us and He has told us that we are to be His hands and His feet in the world. Some of us may say, “Who, I Lord? I don't think so! I am not holy enough; I am not good enough; I don't enough; I have too many problems in my life.” But the Lord says to us, “Come, put your hands in the nail marks and your hand in My side. Feel the love poured out for you, feel the love poured out for you! When you receive that love, you will say, “Yes, Lord, here I am, send me, my Lord and my God! Send me!”
