INSPIRED WORD

September 5, 2007

PRAYER

Lord, You are worthy, You are glorious, You are Lord, You are our shepherd, You are our lover, You are our protector, and You are our brother and our friend. Jesus, You are the Lord of our lives, the Lord of our world, the Lord of our universe, and the Lord of our souls. You are above all else in our lives. Family is important, but not as important as You! There is nothing compared to You, O Lord! So we set aside this time tonight, Lord Jesus, to give You the honor to Your name. We focus our entire beings on You, to receive Your love, to grow in holiness, and to worship You.

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 95: 1 – 7: Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In His hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to Him. The sea is His, for He made it, and His hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care.

EXHORTATION

…..and the walls came tumbling down! There was a mighty noise from the music and from the people! They shouted, didn't they? They shouted and the walls came tumbling down. So I encourage you tonight to lift up your voice, let's praise the Lord and let the shackles (whatever they are) come falling down upon God's people!

CONFIRMATION

As a confirmation to that song – Psalm 147: 3 – 5: He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He tells the number of the stars; He calls each by name. Great is our Lord and mighty in power: to His wisdom there is no limit.

SCRIPTURE

Isaiah 6: 1 – 8: In the year King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne, with the train of His garment filling the temple. Seraphim were stationed above; each of them had six wings: with two they veiled their faces, with two they veiled their feet, and with two they hovered aloft. “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts!” they cried one to the other. “All the earth is filled with His glory!” At the sound of that cry, the frame of the door shook and the house was filled with smoke. Then I said, “Woe is me, I am doomed! For I am a man of unclean lips, living among a people of unclean lips; yet my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, holding an ember which he had taken with tongs from the altar. He touched my mouth with it. “See,” he said, “now that this has touched your lips, your wickedness is removed, your sin purged.” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” “Here I am,” I said; “send me!” And He replied, “Go…” Dan said earlier that we are all commissioned to go. As God commissioned Isaiah in Chapter 6, He commissions each of us here today and everyday.

SCRIPTURE

Revelation 22: 12 – 17: “ Behold I am coming soon! My reward is with Me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city! Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.” The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

SCRIPTURE / PRAYER

“There is a river of joy flowing through the City of our God - the sacred home of the God above all gods .” (Psalm 46: 4) There is a river that brings joy to the city of God . There is a river that flows from the throne of the Almighty; there is a river of grace that God pours forth into the hearts of His people. There is a river that can satisfy all thirst; there is a river that can heal. There is a river that can bring strength and hope; there is a river that can cleanse with mercy and forgiveness. There is a river that God pours forth from His throne. There is a river that flows down the center of this place; there is a river that flows into every heart and says, “Here I am! Here I am!” O God, we are thirsty for You; we are thirsty for that river!

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 40: 4 – 8: Happy are those who trust the Lord, who do not turn to idols or join those who worship false gods. You have done many things for us, O Lord our God, there is no one like You! You have made many wonderful plans for us. I could never speak of them all, there numbers are so great. You do not want sacrifices and offerings. You do not ask for animals burnt whole on the altar, or for sacrifices to take away sins. Instead, You have given me ears to hear You and eyes to see You, and so I answer, “Here I am, Lord! How I love to do Your will, my God! Help me to keep Your teaching close to my heart.”

SCRIPTURE / IMAGE

1 John 4:13 – 16, 18: “ By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father has sent His Son as the Savior of the world. God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God. So we have known and believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear.” As we worship tonight, I believe that God wants us to know that perfect love that casts out all fears. It isn't our perfect love for Him because that can never be perfect. But He sees the faith of a mustard seed; He also sees the love that is as small as a mustard seed and He know that we want to love Him. It is His perfect love that casts out all fear. As we move closer to Him in worship, I just have an image of the Lord Jesus walking among us, turning each face just a little bit more to Him, to look full in His loving eyes; to look away from the circumstances that we may have, to know that He has perfect love for us and in this perfect love, He will indeed cast out all fear in our hearts.

TEACHING / PROPHECY

….woman at the well. Jesus knew all of her faults, all of her failings, all of the ways she had messed up her life. Jesus cared more about her soul, her heart, her capacity to love. He gave her living water because she had asked for it. He didn't focus on the problem, He knew them. He focused on giving her what she really needed; that wasn't a husband, it was life, it was love, it was healing, fulfillment. We are no less and no more than that woman at the well. He comes to everyone of us in this room tonight. He takes our hand and says, “I forgive you; forgive yourself. Let Me give you the living water that you are craving, let Me give you the water I long to give because that is what I am. Let Me be with you, let Me love you. I forgive you, forgive yourself and let Me love you.”

SCRIPTURE

Revelation 21: 3 – 5: I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, God's dwelling is with the human race. He will dwell with them and they will be His people and God Himself will always be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, wailing or pain, for the old order has passed away.” The One who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.”
