INTERPRETATION
Stop taking yourselves so seriously! Rejoice in the blessings that I have given you. Seek after the things that I have in store for you. Hold My hand and walk with Me. Go, go, run, play, celebrate; be My children and rejoice in that! Do not be afraid of other people's opinions. Think only of My opinion. Know that I am your Father, and you are My little ones.
SCRIPTURE / PROPHECY
John 1: 35 – 38: “ The next day John was standing there again with two of his disciples when he saw Jesus walking by. ‘There is the Lamb of God!' he said. The two disciples heard him say this and went with Jesus. Jesus turned, saw them following Him, and asked, ‘What are you looking for?'” Jesus is asking us that question tonight, “What is it that you are looking for? Have you come seeking to know Me better? I am here with My heart open and My hand outstretched. Have you come seeking guidance? I am all Wisdom and I will lead you. Have you come seeking healing? I am the great Healer and I have stretched out My hand and I will continue to stretch out My hand for you. Have you come not even knowing why you are here? You have come because I have put in your hearts the desires to know Me deeper, to know My love poured out upon you. I turn and I say to you, ‘What are you looking for?' In your hearts you know what you have come looking for and I say to you, ‘Rejoice and be glad, for I know you and your desires, and I have come to fill you, to heal you, to guide you, to be with you and love you!'”
SCRIPTURE / PRAYER
Luke 24:18 – 35: “ Now that day two of them were going to a village seven miles distant from Jerusalem called Emmaus, and they were discussing as they went all that had happened. In the course of their lively exchange, Jesus approached and began to walk along with them. However they were restrained from recognizing Him. He said to them, ‘What are you discussing as you go on your way?' They halted, in distress, and one of them, Cleopas by name, asked Him, ‘Are you the only resident of Jerusalem who does not know the things that went on there these past few days?' He said to them, ‘What things?' They said, ‘All those that had to do with Jesus of Nazareth, a Prophet powerful in word and deed in the eyes of God and all the people; how our chief priests and leaders delivered Him up to be condemned to death, and crucified Him. We were hoping that He was the One Who would set Israel free. Besides all this, today, the third day since these things happened, some women of our group have just brought us some astonishing news. They were at the tomb before dawn and failed to find His body, but returned with the tale that they had seen a vision of angels who declared that He was alive. Some of our number went to the tomb and found it to be just as the women said, but Him they did not see.' Then He said to them, ‘What little sense you have! How slow you are to believe all that the prophets have announced! Did not the Messiah have to undergo all this so as to enter into His glory?' Beginning, then, with Moses and all the prophets, He interpreted for them every passage of Scripture which referred to Him. By now they were near the village to which they were going, and He acted as if He were going farther. But they pressed Him, ‘Stay with us. It is nearly evening and the day is practically over.' So He went in to stay with them. When He had seated Himself with them to eat, He took bread, pronounced the blessing, then broke the bread and began to distribute it to them. With that their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; whereupon He vanished from their sight. They said to one another, ‘Were not our hearts burning inside us as He talked to us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?' They got up immediately and returned to Jerusalem , where they found the eleven and the rest of the company assembled. They were greeted with, ‘The Lord has been raised! It is true! He has appeared to Simon.' Then they recounted what had happened on the road and how they had come to know Him in the breaking of the bread.” May our hearts burn, Lord, as You open the Scriptures to us. May our hearts burn, Lord, as You meet us in prayer on our way as we are walking through our lives. Meet us, Lord, as we are discussing You and everything that has happened in our lives and in Your life with our friends. O Jesus, meet us there! Help our hearts to burn that we may know You in the Scriptures and in the breaking of the bread.
