INSPIRED WORD
July 1, 2009
IMAGE
.....the Sacred Heart of Jesus being this luminous bowl which was filled with the purest and most refreshing water and it never ran dry. His Heart was just ready to open up and pour out Himself, His love, His Spirit, this refreshing water into each of our hearts.
CONFIRMATION
I have a confirming Scripture for both images of the refreshing water and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Isaiah 12: 2 – 6: Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and will not be afraid. For the Lord God is my strength and my might; He has become my salvation. With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. In that day you will say: “Give thanks to the Lord, call on His Name; make known His deeds among the nations, and proclaim that His Name is exalted. Sing praises to the Lord, for He has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world. Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion , for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.”
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, we want to lift up our praise to You and declare in the heavens and on the earth that there is no other name given under heaven by which man must be praised. God must be praised with the name of Jesus; ‘that at the name of Jesus, every knee will bow, every tongue confess that He is Lord, to the glory of God the Father'. God, we don't understand this Trinity thing, but, Lord, we accept and declare Your Trinity. Jesus Christ, You are the Bread of Life, You are the Water of Life, You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, and we know that no one comes to the Father but by You. We praise and exalt Your Holy Name, Lord Jesus! For Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever! Amen! (Reference Philippians 2: 10 and John 14: 6)
SCRIPTURE / SENSE
Isaiah 49:16: “See, upon the palms of My hands I have written your name.” I was reminded of that verse when we were praising God with our palms open. I had the distinct feeling that God's name was being written on the palms of all of our hands.
PRAYER
...blood and water flowed from it. O Jesus, pour forth that Living Water upon Your people here tonight. Pour forth Your Spirit, that Living Water, upon Your people here tonight! Lord, pour forth that Living Water upon Your people here tonight; that we might be cleansed, O God; that we might be strengthened, O God; that we might fully surrender to You, O God; that we might give all of ourselves to You, O God; that we might lay before You our lives, O God; that we might lay before You our work, O God; that we might lay before You our imperfections, O God; that we may receive Your love. Pour forth that Living Water, O Jesus, upon Your people here tonight!!
PROPHECY
Your burdens are nothing for Me; give them to Me and I will take care of them for you. Do not worry! Your burdens are heavy for you, but I can carry the load. All you have to do is ask Me.
IMAGE
When Dan was giving his talk, I had an image of a lot of Christians, perhaps more so in the Catholic Church, whose lives become stagnant after being baptized in the water. A couple of seconds before the music team started singing, “ River of God ”, I had an image of all of us evangelizing our other Christian brothers and sisters who are in that stagnant place. In that image, we were taking them down the river of God to take part in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. They already know and love Jesus, so we can do so much to help them take that journey beyond the Baptism of the water to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Reach out to three people this week and lovingly invite them. In turn, that is how we build up this army of God.
SCRIPTURE
Philippians 2: 5 – 11: Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death - even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God, the Father.
SCRIPTURE / EXHORTATION
....to bless us tonight as we surrender our lives to Him, and the Holy Spirit to come and dwell with us. The Lord takes me back to a Scripture that Dan read in the beginning when he talked about the power of the Holy Spirit received when we say, “Yes, Lord, baptize me in Your Holy Spirit!” John 20: 19 – 22 : When it was evening on that day the first day of the week, and doors of the house where the disciples had met were locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” After He said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent Me, so I send you.” When He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” I believe that God has walked among us in that way tonight. He came when maybe the doors of our hearts were locked for fear of something and He stood among us and He said, “Peace be with you.” When He said this, we rejoiced and He said to us again, “Peace be with you.” Then He said, “As the Father has sent Me, so I send you.” We had a word about that earlier. We are sent! When He said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” He has sent His Holy Spirit; He breathed on us a fresh and said, “Go, for I send you!”
SCRIPTURE
We had a very strong word tonight of ‘surrender'. The Lord has placed it on my heart that our greatest example of that surrender is our Mother Mary in her words “Behold the handmade of the Lord, be it done unto me according to thy word.” (Luke 1:38 )
